Biography
One of the breakout House Music producers of the late '90s, Cevin Fisher is responsible for an enormous number of club favorite including "Freaks Come Out," "(You Got Me) Burning' Up," "Music Saved My Life," and "House Music." He began DJing while in his teens, first in his father's New Jersey and various college gigs, until he landed a spot at the legendary Club Zanzibar, the Mecca for the Garage House Music scene. A veteran of Arthur Baker's Shakedown studios, Cevin honed his remix skills for many of the most influential independent and major labels during that period, and it was Danny Tenaglia who convinced him to begin recording original material.
His first releases became house music anthems like "House Is A Felling" (as Sunday School) and "Hands On Love." In these songs you could hear the influences of early house pioneers like Tony Humphries and Larry Heard, but his own unique identity was clearly emerging. While his early singles "The Way We Used To" and "Shine the Light" earned international club play, it was 1998's "The Freaks Come Out" that pushed him toward the top of the DJ hierarchy.
Through the years Cevin's celebrity has continued to grow as his skills have evolved. The production on his Suzanne Palmer single "Luv2Luv" for Star 69 is nothing short of epic and with the second single "Eye Can See You" soon to be released, the outlook for crossover success is increasingly bright. But, the big news on the horizon is Cevin's collaboration with club wizard, The Scumfrog. The co-production of "Let The Sun Shine" will be out on Effin in time for the 2005 Winter Music Conference and with a head full of songs, and a surplus of talent, Cevin Fisher is juat beginning to hit his stride. Keep listening, there's a lot more to come.
